More footwear-based news from that fine city of Milan – this time from those clever shoe brains at Jimmy Choo, who revealed their Spring collection there last week. And it was again to that wonderful fantasy land of California – “sunshine, the outdoors and the sculptural grandeur of architects like Richard Meier and Frank Gehry were the starting point for my Spring Summer collection,” said Sandra Choi, the brand’s Creative Director. And what shoes are suitable for Californian sky gazing? Well – heels, of course, in soft woven leather or with fabric ankle ties, some cork details. There was even a rather nice palm tree motif. And for the non-heel wearer there was plenty here too – boots, espadrilles and flats – all in a sunny, West Coast colour palette. Including a Jimmy Choo-coined colour – “Maliblu”. Aren’t they clever.
