Fencing is a rather noble sport, isn’t it? I mean it’s fighting, but it’s also quite polite. Gallant, even. Perhaps that’s why they call it the sport of kings? Or is that polo? Oh well – we’ll call it that anyway. Because of these things, Belgian shoe brand ROMBAUT have decided to model their latest collection upon the feet of two fencers. And these aren’t just pretty models playing pretend, but real life fencing champions, Race Imboden and Bianca O’Brien. Who else to model such fine shoes than those at the top of their game? Because Mats Rombaut, the designer, is – having gained a fine footwear pedigree at the houses of Lanvin and Damir Doma. Now, we probably won’t be partaking in a fencing bout any time soon, or any sport to be honest, but we would deffo wear a pair of those shoes.
