Salvatore Ferragamo: Ready-to-wear SS16

What symbolises a present better than a bow? Or even better, several of them? There were bows all over Salvatore Ferragamo’s spring collection – if not bows, then ties – on dresses and tops, twisted on crushed leather skirts or securing delicate shoulder straps. It fitted with the easy, effortless feel of the collection – the ties replacing more complicated fastening. But this collection was a gift in other ways – the effortless silhouettes that draped easily across the body, lightweight pleated knits, fine sprays of feathers. The defining shape was the peasant dress, those lightweight ruffled layers, re-rendered in rich fabrics to create something wholly elegant, and wholly Italian. The perfect present to unwrap come Spring.
