Taking her cues from George Cukor’s The Women, Emilia Wickstead’s, collection inspired by “the females of the 1950’s” has an almost sporty elegance running through it. And by sporty we don’t mean clothes to do sports in, but the idea of American sportswear. Tea dresses come with slithers of mid riff on show and cuffs which are elasticated, with ties hanging from them loosely. Capri pants are slim and worn with sleek ribbed knits while evening dresses are fuller and a little looser in shape, all executed in a in a mix of graphic geometric prints in a palette of cream, mauve and mustard yellow, and a bright mix of floral chintz.
