Let’s just say that I wasn’t the most proficient at the game of football when I was a youngster. So much so that in PE lessons I would do anything I could to get away the ball. It’s a special kind of art form, believe me. Even now, years later, when walking through a local park, or other such ball game friendly areas, I still flinch when I hear that frightful sound of foot and leather connecting. I’m sure you can relate. However, were all balls like the magical ball that appears Z ZEGNA’s AW15 campaign video – ‘Be Your Own Style’ – my fears would have been all but gone. I’m certain of it. Because this special black ball, in its basketball-esque roundeness, seems to bring with it fabulous looks from Z ZEGNA’s AW15 collection to everything it touches. Colourful trainers! A bright quilted jacket! The perfect city suit! The ball also brings with it music – pumping techno sounds courtesy of Swedish DJ Adrian Lux, who also handily appears as the video’s model. Zegna say that the collection “once again bridged the gap between work and leisure through its techno-urban vibe and impeccably stylish essentials”. Techno-urban vibe – how fabulous. That’s going to be our dress code this winter. So give it to me Zegna – kick that ball right into my face.
