Tory Burch is a fashion designer. Burch (well, birch, okay) is a kind of tree. The relevance? Trees were the inspiration point of her SS16 collection. Trees, you may say, that’s a little unexpected. But these weren’t just any trees, but a special tree, found at Angkor Wat, a temple in Cambodia. It’s called a strangling tree, which sounds a bit frightening but after a rapid Google they actually look to be very beautiful. They grow flowers all over them every year. There were little flowers all over Burch’s collection, too, bright red ones on cotton dresses, a very nice cornflower blue, marigold lace. Bits of fringing, some super lightweight tweeds. So don’t go out picking branches and fashioning them into clothing – just wait for next spring and let Tory do all the work for you. She’s nice like that.
