It’s that time again! Fashion East have announced their latest line-up – Caitlin Price returns for another season, joined by first-timers Richard Malone and This Is The Uniform. They’ll all hold presentations as part of next months Fashion Week, so the race is on. “There is a freshness to this season’s lineup; all three designers are strong-minded individuals and their girl/woman knows what she’s about,” says Lulu Kennedy, Fashion East’s director. “I’m delighted to be working with them and am enjoying the presentation format – the creativity and freedom is energizing.”
So, what do we know about the designers? Caitlin Price made us all want to wear tracksuits again after her debut last season (in duchesse satin, naturally), whilst Richard Malone comes from an anarchic off-schedule presentation, shown in the unexpected location of Old Street station. Then there’s This Is The Uniform, the brainchild of Jenna Young, a Goldsmiths textile graduate. If her collection is as decisive as the name of her brand, then we’ll all be wearing it come summer.
It’s Fashion East’s 15th year (where did the time go?!) – so as always, expect big things and maybe a few surprises.
