There’s an ease to this. But then according to WWD, Mary did say that she wanted there to be an ease to this. “I wanted it to be a bit effortless.” And it is. But then dresses are always best when there’s a sense of ease to them. Any think of this as op art tromp de l’oeil and rich botanical prints mixed together with layers of please and bright contrasting colours. Hot pinks and oranges. The tromp de l’oeil swirls wrap around the body and melt into the pleats of the fuller skirts creating a sort of, are those or are those not pleats optical illusion. It’s like one of those magic eye things but in dress form.
