Think of this small smattering of ladies at the Balmain Homme show as a sort of teaser for the main event, the main event being the presentation of the full cruise collection during Haute Couture in Paris next week. It’s a sort of taster to whet the appetite. And so, what can we expect next week? If this is anything to go by, a series of second skin dresses in macrame, laced up the front, some barely hitting mid thigh, others slinky and long, and all in a palette of skin hued nudes. This is literally second skin dressing. Sexy beige. As Olivier Rousteing said backstage, “neutral doesn’t have to mean neutral”.
