The girls at Dolce & Gabbana looked like they could be the members of my dream band, a super group of quiffed Rockabilly girls in spangled suits and patent buckled shoes who looked ready to belt out a searing rendition of the Cramps’ Strange Love. Backstage and on the tour bus, their winning combination of black fur, dark sunglasses, pork pie hats and attitude could only be rivaled by their girl-group backing singers’ chiffon dresses and pencil skirts printed with stars, treble clefs and quavers, ankle socks and the pointiest patent stiletto pumps. To testify my love, I have written ‘Dolce & Gabbana’ all over my exercise books and have my fingers permanently crossed for a tour next season.
