“Multiple deadlines – challenging and tiring but worth the anguish when you see a collection come together… ”
DO YOU EVER WEAR YOUR OWN DESIGNS?
“Yes, every day.”
WHAT INSPIRES YOU?
“Good-hearted people and puppies…”
CAN YOU MULTITASK?
“Oh yes… it would be impossible to run your own label if you couldn’t handle multitasking.”
ARE YOU ONLY AS GOOD AS YOUR LAST COLLECTION?
“I think this is a very harsh statement. Collections are personal and each season designers go through different life experiences so it can be hard to have that type of final judgement. If the designer is happy with it… and it sold, then it’s all fine.”
ARE YOU/WERE YOU A JUVENILE DELINQUENT?
“In between, I think. I am someone who can often be in the wrong place at the right time.”
DO YOU GET JEALOUS OF OTHER DESIGNERS?
“Jealous, no. Envious, yes. It can be hard to see big fashion houses execute ideas, etc, that we couldn’t do at this point due to financial and resource limitations.”
HAVE YOU EVER THROWN A DIVA STROP?
“Yes.”
WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE WAY MOST PEOPLE DRESS?
“Depends where you are in the world. A lot of the time I am bored… But I love the way people dress in Dalston – there is never a dull day here.”
ARE YOU A BELIEVER IN HEALTHY COMPETITION?
“Yes, it keeps you on your toes… ”
WHAT DID YOU HAVE FOR DINNER LAST NIGHT?
“Home-made lentil soup.”
WHAT’S VULGAR?
“Sardines and anchovies.”
HAVE YOU EVER BANNED ANYONE FROM YOUR SHOW BECAUSE OF A BAD REVIEW? WOULD YOU?
“No, but I am tempted every season.”

“Zero. My mother would kill me.”
