VISIONAIRE 61: LARGER THAN LIFE

Gaga’s image has adorned the cover of every major magazine in the past couple of years, and all that gloss seems to have jammed the inner workings of Visionaire 60’s printers-interrupting a white studio shot with a slathering of black. Each page is seven feet tall after all! No wait- she’s an oil splattered mermaid, and this is possibly the most abstracted depiction we’ve seen of Gaga Ooo La La thus far. Courtesy of genius photographic duo Ines and Vinoodh the only issue we’ve got with the scale of this cover, is that we’d quite like to interrupt Ms. Germanotta’s modelling, and ask if she can spare a few moments for her other job. We do like a dance and a bit of a sing song you see. Ok we’re not actually crazy- we can just about realise that life size doesn’t mean real, but as Lamsweerde and Matadin’s  accompanying quote states ‘there is no oil too thick as to destroy the imagination’.  We’re BEYOND excited to see what the rest of this epic (quite literally) fashion bible contains. Contributors for 61 have included Steven Klein, Mario Sorrenti, Marilyn Minter, Ed Ruscha, Tom Sachs, Bruce Weber, Sam Taylor Wood and Ridley Scott!
