Now, we understand that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I mean, lets not deny our love of Bjorn Again, but even so there are limits to what is ‘inspired by’ and what is out and out copying. Take for example the newest issue of Muse magazine. They’ve had a face lift. A full on pull the skin back and staple it to the nape of your neck experience. The result of which is Purple Magazine. The similarities are such that for a moment when looking at Olivier Zahm’s slideshow of both magazines side by side we wouldn’t have been able to tell which was which if it weren’t for the captions. It’s the magazine equivalent of MTV’s I Want a Famous Face. It’s rather sad that Muse feels the need to copy page for page such an iconic magazine in order to feel relevant. Well what other reason is there for what they’ve done? It couldn’t be that they haven’t an original idea of their own so had to steal someone elses could it? Shocking!
