WOOYOUNGMI X LINDA FARROW: THE SUNGLASSES

We’ve been thinking about sunglasses and what gives a pair that certain je ne sais quoi that makes us want to put them on our face and keep them there permanently. Two words: Linda Farrow. Now, we love Linda and her many creations, but we’re inclined to take them off at certain points during the day, for instance, when we’re inside. However a Wooyoungmi and Linda Farrow collaboration would have us seriously considering ringing round Harley Street to find out if it’s possible to have a pair attached to our faces. Would there be much scarring and what are the costs? Not that the scarring bothers us as we could wear a Wooyoungmi hat to cover it. Do a total Woo head look. Allow us to describe the fruits of this collaborative labour. There are two styles. The first is sleek and rectangular. You can choose between a dark horn frame or tortoiseshell, between green or gold mirror lenses, or just green non-reflective ones. Personally we’re rather keen on the idea of a mirrored lens. We like the idea of reflection. Say you catch someone staring at your fresh under-eye scarring from the surgery – slowly turn in their direction, allowing the onlooker to catch a glimpse of themselves in your mirrored lens. They will notice the giant bags under their eyes and scream with horror. Your scars will fade, their bags, being genetic, will not. The second style is an update on the Clubmaster. It comes in a warm tortoiseshell combined with either, lime green, blue or orange arms. A little playful colour injection is a good thing. The lens is green and gradiated. They go very well with blue and hazelnut eyes. They bring out the colour in them. They also happen to be perfect for some shameless flirting. If you angle your head just right, you can freely cruise an array of men without them being any the wiser. Should one happen to catch your eye, give a little tilt of the head and throw a coquettish glance. Think of the lighter gradiation as a sort of veil. Then reel your lust muppet in. We’d also just like to mention briefly the hinge. It is “new”. Has been “designed specially”. It is silver and square. It adorns as well as functions. That is what we like to call attention to detail. We’re all about attention to detail.
