Despite the title, Naked Hollywood: Weegee in Los Angeles, and the fact that Weegee made his living shooting crime scenes for tabloids, this is not a book of nude film stars. It does feature film stars, but they are mainly clothed, and it “documents the lurid, irresistible undersides of stardom, fandom, commerce, and self-promotion in mid-century Los Angeles”. Or as Weegee said, finally he could photograph things he liked. Out now.
