BURBERRY: THE BRITAIN, LUXURY WATCH COLLECTION
Inspired by- what else but the iconic Burberry trench, a boldly titled range of luxury watches has been officially launched by the history steeped brand today. The Britain range is a sort of meditation on 156 years of design history, and appearing in the enclosed gloriously glossy promo its doing one of the things that Burbz does best. Preying on our patriotism! We’ve been watching this video for a good half hour now, over and over. Gawping as the box fresh timepiece rotates on an invisible axis, like some rocket ship set to launch. We’re envisaging accompanying ads. Indie fella, and gorgeous British actress slamming a union Jack into lunar dust, dressed entirely in S/S Prorsum metallics. Yes- the moon! Burberry always does these things properly, so we’re certain the budget will stretch. Oh wait- further reading of press release reveals that Mr. Testino has shot accompanying campaign, so we can of course expect something far classier, probably more subtle? There’s a reason we’re not art directors after all.
