RICHARD GRAY: 3 IMPORTANT THINGS ABOUT TRACIE
Three important things for a Friday afternoon about Tracie, singer from The Style Council, and her chart-topping song The House that Jack Built.
1. I am her. Or rather I thought I was her when I was in the first year at comprehensive school. Tracie typifies that girl at the back of the bus chuddy-chewing wonderousness that many girls had back in 1983.
2. Her eye-liner – it’s powerful. The party is on the lower lid. It’s hazy, it’s not really slept in – that’s a Mossy thing and latter day.
3. Deatched hair, banana trousers, shirt and tie (feels right again) and earrings (two) – all incredible all verrry Friday afternoon.
Note, the Philo is arguing for one earring only over at Celine for next autumn. BUT, there’s something a bit more “down the chippy” amarrrrrrzingness about a stud and a dangly one. DO THIS NOW PLEASE.
