“I count myself exceptionally lucky that the chart of my working life is in London, a city that embraces the new. With this new chapter for my collections, I hope to open the doors for great British designer pre-collections to be showcased here. Thank you for all of your support in making this the start of something extraordinary and special.” And we count ourselves exceptionally lucky to have been able to witness not only Roland’s debut resort show but also the first resort show to ever be staged in London. This was a return to the form fitting tailoring for which he’s best known. Dresses were tight, with dart details that moulded the fabric to the body, zipped up the back and cut to create the illusion of endless legs, all in a shades of summer sherbet. It was very chic, in a Parisienne summering in Paris kind of way. Roland always does give good Parisienne chic.
