Duncan Campbell, Ciara Phillips, James Richards and Tris Vonna-Michel are this year’s nominees for the Turner Prize, the exhibition of which opens today.
Attention culture vultures, Tate Britain has opened the doors of the Turner Prize 2014, the 30th exhibition of its kind. There’s no pickled cows or stained bedsheets and a condom-strewn floor but there is a film installation featuring a budgerigar, handmade screenprints covering the gallery walls from floor to ceiling and images taken from a theatrical make-up manual (pictured). The winner of the prize, will be announced on Channel 4 on December 1. It’s visual and cerebral treat and, as it always is, a must-see.
