See backstage pictures from Iris van Herpen’s spring/summer 2015 show.
As always, Iris van Herpen’s collection was a feat of tremendous craftsmanship. The majority of it would look just at home on a plinth in a white-walled contemporary art gallery as it would on a model’s body. An art gallery or a natural history museum, that is. Those shoes, 3D-printed and covered in spikes, look like a species of marine invertebrate. Quite how Iris and her team achieved such effects remains a mystery to us. If it’s not high levels of skill and innovation, it must be witchcraft. And Iris doesn’t look the witch-y type.
