Being a cis male, and one without cross-dressing tendencies, I don’t have much experience in the high heel department. That being said, I do walk around my flat on tip-toe, pretending that I’m actually walking down Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show runway, with angel wings on my back and Nicholas Kirkwood high heels on my feet. And despite being a cis male, I would, according to Garth, make a good tranny because of my small, or “dainty” as I prefer, feet. They look, according to Vincent this time, like a Manolo Blahnik drawing. So just imagine how they’d look in a pair of Manolo Blahniks. The mind boggles. Well, mine does anyway. I, as usual, digress. The V&A has announced its summer 2015 exhibition: an exploration into the transformative power of extreme footwear. It will cover footwear from over two millennia and from across the globe – from a sandal decorated in gold from ancient Egypt to a shoe created using 3-D printing; from those worn by Queen Victoria to Sarah Jessica Parker and designed by Manolo Blahnik to Christian Louboutin. The exhibition, which opens next June, promises to be shoe porn convention.
