10 Very Stylish Men Alessandro Sartori

The emphasis is on “artistic”, as Sartori’s work, which he sports himself, is especially concerned with the beauty of artisanal details.

What are you wearing?

“A double-breasted Berluti suit in pure hemp, with a hand-knitted brown tie, a pair of Saint Emilion handmade Berluti loafers and vintage Oliver Peoples sunglasses.”

How about what’s not visible?

“A 1966 GMT Rolex and a custom-made fragrance are always with me.”

What’s your greatest fashion luxury?

“I always wear a pair of cuff links that once belonged to my father, and a scarf, with a handkerchief or knitted tie.”

Are you an excess-baggage or carry-on kind of man?

“I am a carry-on baggage kind of man. The Berluti Trois Nuits briefcase in tobacco colour is my favourite.”

What’s your biggest sartorial turn-on?

“A bespoke broken suit made combining a worker jacket and a pair of chinos in the same cashmere and linen fabric, or in an English four-ply mohair, elevating the tailoring to the ultimate level of luxury.”

How do you dress to impress?

“I hate to dress to impress, but I love so much when I wear a fresh, elegant and chic outfit for the very first time.”

What’s your hangover/out-for-a-pint-of-milk look?

“It doesn’t matter what day it is to me, I always enjoy so much to dress myself – including when taking a day off.”

What do you love about menswear today?

“What I love about Berluti’s menswear today is the possibility to create a modern yet elegant collection starting from bespoke prototypes. All the designers in my team are in fact working with our amazing ateliers, where master tailors and bottiers are creating the first prototype entirely by hand. This has always been my dream.”

What’s missing from menswear today?

“I like the surprise that a completely new product/style can create in a mature market. There is always space for something new.”

What’s your earliest memory or concept of style?

“My father spending a lot of time dressing up in a super-chic look for a family party.”

Who’s your ultimate style icon?

“Definitely the innovative, elegant and very charming Walter Albini.”

The true measure of a man is?

“Education and the style.”
