London Fashion Weeks New Home

Oi, fash pack! It’s time to say goodbye to the neoclassicism of Somerset House and hello to the art deco of Brewer Street Car Park – London Fashion Week’s new home. Why is it moving? “The long term growth of the UK’s designer fashion market is reflected geographically in this move that will see London Fashion Week designers showcasing collections in one of London’s most vibrant, diverse and creative hubs set within a mile of Bond Street, Dover Street, Mount Street, Oxford Street and Regent Street,” explained Caroline Rush, CEO of the BFC, this morning. Soho certainly is a hub, of the vibrant, diverse, creative and homosexual variety. Apparently the new venue will offer “freedom and flexibility to designers who will be able to transform the show space to reflect their own aesthetics and identity.“ Plus, it’s a proverbial stone’s through from chez Ten. Yay! But, for now we want to say goodbye to Somerset House and its treacherous cobblestones. And we want to do this in the only way we know how – through the musical genius of Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer in The Sound of Music. So long Somerset House, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, goodbye.
