For some reason, don’t ask why, when looking at the Ermenegildo Zegna show, I am reminded of Star Wars. I just wanted to put that out there, as I know that you all deeply care about what random things other not-so-random things remind me of. So, yes, this collection reminds me of Star Wars. I’ve never been that big on Star Wars. I’ve only watched one. I am, though, a fan of the wisdom of Yoda. And the creations of Stefano, particularly his creations for spring/summer. The show started with a horizon of men’s silhouettes framed by a rectangular outline. Full chinos and light, long coats and jackets had a sense of ease about them. A sense of Yoda in the way they were tied at the waist. They were reminiscent of karate jackets. So maybe they were more Mr Miyagi. But does it really matter who? Both were wise men filled with wisdom, and these clothes felt very “wise man filled with wisdom”. They also felt relaxed. Wise and loose.
