As Stefon noted in our runway review, Dior’s cruise 2016 collection had something very Sigourney Weaver in Working Girl about it. Or, if you prefer, Melanie Griffith in Working Girl, when she was borrowing Sigourney’s character’s clothes. (Minus the ‘80s power hair of course, and plus Dior’s sense of luxury and femininity and Raf Simons’ of modernity.) It’s all in the jackets – all in the cinch-waisted power-shouldered glory, the checks, 80s wallpaper-like prints and the 50 shades of beige and the dangly, jangly earrings.
