Celebrating the beauty and creativity of Australian women, 2018 Calendar Girls was an idea originally conceived by Amy Finlayson and Richard Nicoll back in 2016. One year on, Amy Finlayson has brought the project to fruition, following the tragic passing of the designer just over twelve months ago, whose enduring memory, as creative talent, collaborator and friend, inspired the calendar.
“This is a project that is close to my heart and has remained true to it original intention of showcasing fabulous Australian women,” said Finalyson, founder of The Fin Collection and creative director of the project. That original intention was to showcase the strength and promise of Australian talent, and now, together with multidisciplinary artist Bartolomeo Celestino, the 2018 Calendar Girls represents exactly that; a fashion network of successful, independent women at the top of the industry. Swathed in Australian merino wool, the models were shot by Celestino in Australia, the US and the UK, with the help of The Woolmark Company, all proceeds from the calendar will be donated to the National Heart Foundation.
It is a fitting tribute to Richard who loved his home country, and was taken from us far too soon.
The calendar has been for sale as of 19th November, available from Macquarie Centre, Sydney, Pacific Fair Shopping Centre, Broadbeach and a limited run available from the Fin Collection’s website.
