16Arlington: Ready-To-Wear SS26

Unveiling his latest collection via a lookbook, 16Arlington’s Marco Capaldo proves he doesn’t need the glow of the catwalk for his clothes to dazzle: they shine brightly all on their own. If there’s someone who could make a textural pile-on look ultra glam, it’s Capaldo. For his SS26 outing, he toured through age-old wardrobe heroes like Twenties lingerie, Forties sleepwear and Nineties pencil skirts, bulldozing each into one another with lashings of sparkle and plenty of feathers.

The 16Arlington girl has always loved a party and these clothes are laced with the sort of pizzaz that’ll have heads turning on the dance floor. Zebra print blouses? Gorgeous. Lace slip dresses frosted with confetti-shaped paillettes? Delish. Such pieces make for a hedonistic uniform without ever teetering on silly or ridiculous. Massive triangular totes come accented with a curtain of feathers hung from carabiners. Camisoles migrate into crystal-embellished pencil skirts with zebra stripes at the hem and extra dramatic trench coats are whipped into shape thanks to XL studded belts. This is a collection that celebrates the joy of dressing up and being just that little bit extra with your look before stepping out the door.
