10 People To Meet Rich Aybar

Aybar’s vision of fashion is the twisting and turning kind. It can’t be pre-empted.

Take his work for the latest Bernhard Willhelm campaign, for instance. Featuring some fabulous motley crew on a lightly deranged expedition to we’re not sure where, it’s at once anti-fashion and pro-glamour, and somehow almost totally devoid of nostalgia. In fact, it’s sort of post-apocalyptic. Selling us not only Mr Wilhelm’s new collection, but perhaps also the premise of a city slicker on a dog lead as some sort of fab new accessory. Bloody good stuff, basically. So we’re sticking with Rich for a little while, and hoping some of his talent rubs off. At least long enough for a few questions, and oh yes – portrait, too, please.
