Alessandro Michele’s Gucci has reset the way fashion is thinking about masculinity, luxury and the nonagenarian Florentine leather label as a whole. A bold jab at the reset button, missing male and female into a jewel-hued, silk wrapped melange of of sexual fluidity (oo-er), Michele’s autumn/winter catwalk shows – and the house’s first ever cruise show in the midst of a New York summer heatwave – have brought an indulgent sense of full-blown romance to the Gucci guy and girl. Divine decadence.
