10 MAGAZINE: THE SUMMER 2014 ISSUE, ON NEWSSTANDS SOON!
EDITOR’S LETTER
I have finally managed to get around to writing my ed’s letter. I never know why I leave it to the last minute. It’s late now that it’s got to the point that I am having to write it in LA after relentless shooting schedules and four 16-hour days in a row.
Oh well, that will teach me. I will never again drag my heels and procrastinate again. Well, I’ll try not to.
So, finally, on to this issue and, of course, my editor’s letter. Now I am not going to lie to you, or even pretend otherwise – I am officially totally obsessed with American Horror Story, and Coven specifically. Naturally I was a fan of the previous seasons, Murder House and Asylum, but this one has been absolutely – hands down – the best ever, with Angela Bassett, Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Frances Conroy, Sarah Paulson and Gabourey Sidibe in starring roles.
With this in mind, this issue has been flavoured in one form or another with a sprinkling of a gothic theme. Witches of the modern day – high-heel-wearing glamazons whom you wouldn’t really mind captivating you with their charms.
Even the text has whole pieces devoted to the justification of my total obsession with these modern-day witches.
Elin’s rasta, dreadlock-haired witch has made it on the cover, along with Mattias’s glamorous, glossy version. Adore them both.
I have been totally bewitched and spellbound by them all and hope you, too, can appreciate and share in my adoration.
