10 Beauty Finds: March

BEAUTY FINDS IS TEN’S NEW, ONLINE SERIES WHERE BEAUTY AUTHORITY EDWINA INGS-CHAMBERS DISSECTS HER MUST-HAVE BEAUTY FINDS EACH MONTH.

So, it’s time to – officially – spring into some beauty newness and appropriately here’s a roundup of what’s best to try, to seek, to find right now in the beauty sphere…

Some Givenchy lace, for a firmer face… with a Le Soin Noir Firming Face lightweight gel mask, packed with revitalising algae, that you can apply with the dedicated brush then place the fancy Calais-Caudry® lace mask – specially woven with the Givenchy logo and fully washable and reusable – on top for 15 minutes to leave skin feeling plumper and firmer. It’s like couture for the visage. £282; givenchybeauty.com.

Deploy a fragrance dropper instead of an atomiser and opt for the new Tory Burch Essence of Dreams fragrance layering oils. There are three fragrance choices: Essence of Rose comes with its own dash of bergamot and musks to create a simple but beautiful rose accord. Vetiver is a blend of bergamot, black pepper and coriander seeds; Sandalwood is blended with balsamic and cedar notes. Although they are – as the name suggests – created to be blended or used as a base to boost a favourite fragrance, they are all beautiful enough to use alone… and they provide a great option for travelling with fragrance without it taking up too much space, or you can always add a drop or two to a bath. £57 each; spacenk.com.

Finally get your hands on the Milk Makeup Cooling Water Jelly Tints which have garnered a viral frenzy on social in the run up to their official launch resulting in thousands of them being sold within hours of going live on the Space NK website. The lip and cheek stain, with the look and feel of jelly but packed with cooling aloe, delivers a buildable wash of poppy pink, berry, coral, or red. Store in the fridge for extra cooling powers. £22; spacenk.com.

Tell them to read your lips once you’ve swiped on the new refillable Westman Atelier Lip Suede Matte Lipstick. The super stylish MUA Gucci Westman has created a great formula that can win over even the most reluctant of lippy wearers with great pigment pay off delivered via a super lightweight, airy formula. It’s packed with nourishing skincare ingredients too, including plumping hyaluronic acid and meadowfoam extract to seal in moisture. Lip Suede Matte Lipstick is available in 10 curated shades, all inspired by Gucci’s most used hues from her own custom blends on set. £45; westman-atelier.com.

Banish dark circles – or at least camouflage them well – and cover and target blemishes with the new Erborian Super BB Concealer-Serum that offers skincare benefits alongside its BB tints. With niacinamide to tackle outbreaks, white ginseng to hydrate, escin to booth microcirculation all alongside its lightweight almost whipped texture, this formula offers buildable but natural-looking cover. Available in five shades (with more coming), it’s a great natural skin look for warmer weather. £35; spacenk.com.

Oil you need is love for U Beauty’s The Super Intensive Face Oil but instantly absorbed face oil, a super duper hydrating little number which can restore even the most dehydrated and tired-looking skin and leave it looking and feeling replenished with just a few drops applied at night. Also great to use m as part of a little pre-bedtime gua sha routine. Beauty editors are obsessing about it. £178; theubeauty.co.uk.

Go high tech at home with Sculpta by Déesse PRO and a new gen of DIY beauty tech. The dual-ended device offers a combination of both electrical muscle stimulation (EMS), radio frequency (RF) and red LED light therapy so can help to lift, define, and refine skin texture. One use will deliver an instant snatched effect but keep using it (three times a week is ideal) and longer term it will help to boost collagen, elastin and the skin’s own hyaluronic acid to aid firmness and hydration – and you can do it all while sitting on the sofa watching Eastenders. £499; deesseepro.com.

Take an artistic look at perfume with the perfumer Azzi Glasser (founder of The Perfumer’s Story by Azzi) and her fragrant installation that is part of the Seeing Red selling exhibition at Phillips in London’s Berkeley Square, curated by leading art experts Jane Neal and Fru Tholstrup. To elaborate on her upcoming fragrance Red Rainstorm – the smell of cold rain hitting warm pavements, which will launch first in candles – all the notes, accords and ingredients used to crest it are displayed in glass vessels encased in a large fragrance pyramid and accompanied by an immersive film. You’ll need to be fast to view it though: it’s only on view for a few days and ends on March 24.

Luxuriate in the haircare is the new skincare movement and indulge in the new shampoo and conditioner from none other than cult cream makers Augustinus Bader. The Rich Shampoo and its Rich Conditioner partner are best suited to thicker hair types and help to  reduce breakage and dryness, fight frizz and add serious shine (and includes, of course, the brand’s famous TFC8 patented technology). Talk about really living the expensive hair trend… £43 each; augustinusbader.com.

And consider…. Championing a brown lip. “It’s the new red,” says MUA Zoe Taylor. “It’s chic and Seventies, think crisp blurred edges with a faded out centre, with or without a glossy finish.” Her favourite way to go? “The Sisley lip pencil in Chocolate. Line the lips  and then turn the pencil round and using the tiny lip brush blend the liner towards the centre of the lip. I love to see a hint of the natural skin colour in the centre and lips look full and pouty without looking too done.”
