10 Beauty Finds: June

BEAUTY FINDS IS TEN’S ONLINE SERIES WHERE BEAUTY AUTHORITY EDWINA INGS-CHAMBERS DISSECTS HER MUST-HAVE BEAUTY FINDS EACH MONTH.

We meet again, beauty pickers. And what beauty treats were we busy gathering in the merry month of June? Read on to find out our top 10 for the last month of spring.

And in at Number One is Eve Lom. Just Eve Lom would be enough frankly because this phenomenal woman, facialist and brand founder has been celebrating the 40th anniversary of her brand’s creation and also, therefore, one of beauty’s most iconic products: her Cleanser. To celebrate, there’s a limited-edition Heritage gift featuring the classic balm Cleanser and the Rescue Mask alongside one of her signature muslin cloths or you can opt for a cleanser in a commemorative Heritage box festooned with illustrations of roses. Also marking the moment is a new Cleansing Oil (it turns to a milky emulsion with water) for those that prefer that texture and is equally brilliant at lifting away dirt, makeup and SPF. Shop here.

Pushed into the Number Two spot is Merit with surely one of the most hyped SPF launches ever: The Uniform. A tinted mineral sunscreen, it comes in 15 sheer shades offering buildable, light-to-medium coverage that gives a natural skin-like finish for every day. This product has been more than two years in the making ’till the formula was just right. And remember a mineral sunscreen gives the skin a protective barrier that reflects UV rays (a chemical sunscreen absorbs them). No silicon. No white cast. And the hype? It’s worth it: this is a fantastic, daily reach-for bit of beauty kit. Get yours here.

Number Three is a brand new skincare brand that is dedicated to skin longevity. Meet Loya, a Swiss biotech science skincare brand that also includes the growing trend towards neurocosmetics (interactions between the brain and skin), so everything is formulated to boost both skin and mood (think positivity boosting fragrances, for instance) and it will even include rolling out a holistic range of longevity products including oral/dental. The SupeReverse serum is already gaining beauty fans and leaves skin super hydrated, looking juicier. Shop here.

In at Number 4 and the eyes have it as we take a moment to swoon over Paul and Joe’s new Jelly Eye Colour. These gel-based shadows offer a shimmery, pearlescent wash of colour and a wet-look finish in a crease-proof formula in pretty, Unicorn-like shades: lilac (Sparkling Bubble), pale pink (Fruit Sorbet) and light gold (Summer Flash). The product can be used with a light touch or be built up for more emphasis. The packaging on these is also charming so this comes with a hoarder warning: you’ll be trying to find alternative used for these little pots and their yellow lids once you’ve used up the contents. Secure yours here.

The eyes still have it at Number 5 where you can go to bat for your lashes with the new Wrap Lash Tubing Mascara from Revolution. It features advanced tubing technology giving it 24 hour staying power that can resist flaking, smudging and even summer heat. Plus, the Maxi-V brush helps to add lift, length and definition and an incorporated Widelash™ Complex in the formula also helps to strengthen and lengthen lashes. Available in black, burgundy and brown, you can shop Wrap Lash here.

Peony season is here but, thanks to our entry at Number Six, it never needs to disappear again – at least not when it comes to the home thanks to the newly revamped home fragrance collection from British perfume brand Ormonde Jayne. The Peony Candle (or you can opt for a diffuser – official name Parfum d’Ambience) smells as charming as you’d imagine (with notes of rose petal, citrus and musk added) and is a flame you’ll seriously want to linger with. Purchase here.

It’s time to refresh your Nineties vibe at Number Seven with the latest – and fifth – in the Donna Karan Cashmere fragrance collection this time with Vanilla added as a headliner. Alongside the warming vanilla are exotic spices, orange blossom, bergamot, leather and amber to create an all-encompassing cosseting fragrance that’s luxurious and sensual all at once. Shop here.

An update of a different kind enters the charts at Number Eight with Nuxe now offering its classic Huile Prodigeuse dry body oil in an easy roll-on option (alongside the more traditional spritz which isn’t going anywhere). The reinvention of the Huile, a beauty classic, gives a novel way to apply this all-rounder oil that works for the body, face and hair. It features seven precious botanical oils including macadamia, sweet almond, hazelnut, camellia, borage, argan and tusbaki – and is also available with a golden tint. And with plenty of frangipani it has also become one of the scents of summer. Shop here.

Number Nine brings possibly the fanciest and most lust-worthy body brush or bit of bodycare kit that you could hope to get acquainted with. It comes from Altesse Studio, the French OG brush-making brand with 150 years of heritage and artisanal expertise behind it. This olive-wood design has been made in collaboration with French lymphatic expert Rebecca Trévalinet to create a unique dry body brush to deliver ultimate performance and a brush that should last a lifetime. This is serious bathroom elevation. Shop here.

And for another beauty all-rounder of an altogether different variety at Number Ten check out Dior’s new limited-edition Dior La Baume balm which comes in a special pink, pebble-shaped toile de jouy-adorned holder on a chain (add it to your bag charms – or even to your belt loops!). Deploy the balm on-the-go for lips, hands, cuticles or anywhere else where you might have a dry patch of skin for a little bit of a mini makeover. Purchase here.
