Ok, stop whatever you’re doing. No, we really mean it. Grab your calendar and circle today’s date with a red Sharpie because it marks an iconic moment in modern fashion history. A collaboration of collaborations is here for your consideration – the much-anticipated Dapper Dan x Gucci collection has just hit the retail universe and it’s exactly everything we wanted it to be. Launching in worldwide flagships as well as online, this capsule includes some of the most legendary Dapper Dan archive pieces reworked into contemporary wardrobe must-haves as well as some fabulous accessories oozing with 1980s Harlem Eleganza that will make just about anyone look cool. And let’s not forget how it all started – Alessandro Michele first paid homage to Dapper Dan with the Cruise 2018 collection, but after being asked to give credit where it’s due, he – in true Gucci style – made it bigger and better than anyone could expect. A full-blown collection with the boutique owner and street style NYC icon of 1980s and 1990s who was also one of the first to turn bootleg into luxury back in the day.
