New York fashion week is very nice, but it being four days – officially, even more – into our spring/summer 2016 season, we can’t help quoting the great Madge in say that, well, we need a holiday. Ay. Tommy Hilfiger is evidently of one mind with the frazzled fashion press corps: he transported us to a Carribean island, via an artfully painted backdrop, a truckload of sand and a very big paddling pool, to show a laid-back, effortlessly cool collection of bright colour, tie-dye and crocheted bikinis. Think spring break – or maybe September break. Which is what we all want after watching Gigi Hadid and her model cohorts splashing through Tommy’s not-so-deep lagoon.
