To celebrate the bond already formed with Yayoi through their sponsorship of the artists forthcoming Tate Modern Exhibition, Louis Vuitton’s New Bond Street Maison are housing the pictured works, alongside their especially popular ‘curated shelf’. We’ve been particularly consumed by the ‘Soaring Spirits’ piece on the far wall (2008). Featuring a suspended group of Yayoi’s iconic dots, the use of mirroring offers visitors (as described in press release) a rather ominous ‘abyss of endlessly repeating self portraits.’ We just love it. Can’t get enough of our reflections….especially in Louis! In all seriousness now…we are endlessly inspired by Vuitton’s commitment to promoting the Arts, and after this small taster are even more excited by the prospect of Kusama’s show which opens on February 9th.
